This apprenticeship is about improving people’s wellbeing by making them look and feel better. Beauty Therapy covers a range of treatments, from simple facials and make-up jobs to waxing. You’ll work closely with clients and will need the ability to put them at ease.

Depending on the pathway taken, key units include:

  • Provide facial electrical treatments
  • Provide electrical epilation treatments
  • Provide aromatherapy massage using pre-blended oils
  • Provide self-tanning treatments
  • Provide body massage treatments

Who is this course for?

This Apprenticeship is available at Advanced level and allows you to study towards a recognised qualification whilst in paid employment. Applicants to this Apprenticeship could be a mix of age and experience. As a guide, applicants may come from a range of routes including: work or work experience training and/or experience which could include a portfolio showing what you have done, Intermediate Apprenticeship, vocational or academic qualification(s).

What other experience will I gain?

This Apprenticeship is about improving people’s wellbeing by making them look and feel better. Beauty Therapy covers a range of treatments, from simple facials and make-up jobs to waxing. On the Advanced Apprenticeship you’ll work as a beauty therapist, learning techniques like body massage as well as more complicated electronic treatments to remove unwanted hair or improve skin condition. You’ll work closely with clients and will need the ability to put them at ease.

Where will this lead?

Upon completion you’ll be a fully qualified Beauty Therapy technician so can continue your career at your place of work, progress at a different employer or become self employed. Alternatively you can progress into higher education such as a Foundation degree in Beauty Therapy and Salon Management or other programmes.
