COVID-19 Guidance for Apprentices in your workplace with the Chesterfield College Group

Following yesterday’s government announcement regarding Coronavirus in the UK, we wish to share with you the plans we have in place to ensure that your apprentice/s will still have access to learning and support from the College.

At present, The Chesterfield College Group and all Learning Unlimited centres are open and functioning as normal and all work-based appointments with apprentices are being attended. We are closely following government advice to ensure that our staff follow all preventative protocols.

If we are required to close or change the way we engage with you, we will inform you immediately. Plans are in place to ensure your apprentice/s will continue to be supported should our usual working practices have to change. This will include remote learning and the use of learning technology to communicate with and support apprentices in the workplace.

If your apprentice/s present with any of the flu-like symptoms of Coronavirus (defined as a fever above 37.8C and/or a persistent cough) or have recently returned from a category one country (currently listed as China, Italy, South Korea and Iran – check for the latest updates at www.gov.uk), please ensure they self-isolate at home for at least seven days as per government advice and inform us as soon as possible. Any apprentice who has been advised or chooses to self-isolate is eligible for sick pay in line with the national directive.
