Learning Unlimited is part of the Chesterfield College group, which is committed to safeguarding our apprentices when they are in a workplace environment or classroom. Safeguarding covers a wide range of different issues which includes:
- Promotion of health and development
- Prevention of radicalisation (the Prevent Duty and promotion of British Values)
- Ensuring safety and care
- Child sexual exploitation
- Ensuring the best life chances
- Protection from abuse and neglect (including forced marriage and FGM – female genital mutilation)
- Prevention of bullying and harassment (including online safety)
The term ‘safeguarding’ embraces both child and vulnerable adult protection and preventative approaches to keep our apprentices safe. Safeguarding encompasses students’ health and safety, welfare and well-being. We have developed a Safeguarding Policy and Procedure that aims to meet this commitment which can be found here.
The safeguarding policy is also designed to protect you, the employer, and provide you with a procedure to report or raise any concerns you may have. If you have a Learning Unlimited apprentice working for you and you have any safeguarding concerns, you can contact the safeguarding lead at your local Learning Unlimited centre or office in the first instance.
