It’s been quite a year for health and beauty apprentice, Chloe Hall. For the 18-year-old won the Retail Apprentice of the Year at the Chesterfield Retail Awards earlier this year and is now topping up her qualifications.
After joining beauty salon, The Therapy Lounge in Hasland, a little over a year ago she has gone from strength to strength. She’s now completed her Level 2 in Beauty and has now moved onto training for her Level 3 in Massage.
“It’s been a dream come true to do this apprenticeship,” said Chloe. “I couldn’t see myself working in an office job and I really wanted to do something practical and varied. My job here at the salon gives me the chance to learn and do something varied. No two days are the same as I do a range of different treatments from facials to nails.”
The highlight of the year for her was when she won the Retail Apprentice of the Year, which was sponsored by the Apprentice Town initiative led by Chesterfield Borough Council.
“It was great to be recognised and it’s opened up new opportunities for me,” she said. “I love my job and I am so glad I went down this route. I’d recommend an apprenticeship for anyone. You gain so much more experience.”
