Employers are invited to shape the skills of the next generation

Employers and key stakeholders from across the health, leisure, education and public service sectors will gather together on 16th May to help shape and influence the skills Chesterfield College Group will deliver to the workforce of the future.

The event allows employers and key stakeholders to highlight which skills are most important to them, identifying any existing gaps and shortages. Discussions around how changes in a variety of industries create the need to develop different skill sets as well as how to address the challenges in ensuring performance and quality will also be high on the agenda.

Stuart Allen, Director of Learning for Health, Wellbeing and Society at Chesterfield College is inviting organisations from across the region to take part. He said:

“It is vital that we work with our key employers and stakeholders to design what we offer to our students. By sharing information and working together, we are creating technical and academic courses which help people into jobs and help organisations to continue to develop their workforce so that they succeed. Our aim is to make sure we are providing students with the skills they need to progress into apprenticeships, employment and higher level study. If you have an interest in developing people to deliver services in health, leisure, education or public services I hope you can come and join us on 16th May.”

The event provides a fantastic opportunity to network with key industry experts, employers, higher education partners, students and staff, at the same time as finding out about what the College Group including the apprenticeship provider, Learning Unlimited, has to offer to help develop the existing and the future workforce.
