The importance of mentoring apprentices in the workplace

It’s vitally important that employers who take on apprentices understand the influence and positive effect a good mentoring programme can have on the success and integration of their apprentices.

Learning Unlimited offer a unique one-day workshop (delivered remotely) designed for employers who are required to mentor apprentices. Mentors play a key role in ensuring that new apprentices are provided with the correct guidance and support in the workplace. They become a key factor in how the apprentice develop skills and knowledge, as well as workplace behaviours and attitudes that align with the culture and objectives of the business.

More often than not, mentors who are assigned to apprentices are either not prepared for the role, or struggle to find effective methods of mentoring someone who relies on them for guidance. The aim of this workshop is to give you the opportunity to explore some important tools to better equip yourself to mentor your apprentice.

At the end of this one-day workshop, you will be better equipped to support with their on-boarding process, help them to learn new skills, knowledge, and the right behaviours to build their confidence. You will be able to better support them to fully integrate into your organisation, supporting them to understand and embrace your organisation’s culture, structure, business objectives and way of doing things, whilst enabling them to add value quicker.

The workshop will also give you an opportunity to network with other employers in the area, learning from each other and sharing best practices on how you work with your apprentices.
