Commitment to apprenticeships earns Alphaweld the title of ‘Employer of the Month’

Fabrication and welding specialist, Alphaweld has shown a long standing commitment to developing the next generation through apprenticeships. This has earned them the title of Learning Unlimited’s Employer of the Month for August.

The company, based in rural Derbyshire, have a 30 year history of developing people with the right skills to work in their business. Apprenticeships have always played a part in that.

Apprentices are highly valued within the company. The owners, who both started their careers as apprentices, understand how important it is to give young people from the local area the chance to develop the specialist fabrication and welding skills that their customers demand.

The company recruit an apprentice every year and always offer a permanent position after the apprenticeship is over.

Gary Grant, from Alphaweld said;

“Apprentices are an integral part of our workforce and they are so important for growing our own skilled team. Apprenticeships are a great way to pass on the skills of an older workforce to the younger generation. As a small company we really value the chance to develop people with the right skills in specific areas with the support of tutors from Learning Unlimited.”
