From social media guru to clock restorer, the options are endless

Fancy being a social media guru, IT expert, or clock maker? Did you know you can get into any of these careers through an apprenticeship?

It’s no secret that apprenticeships offer learners a first step onto the career ladder, but it’s not so well known that it now covers a much wider variety of options these days offering the chance to move into a vast range of different careers. Current apprenticeship vacancies listed on Learning Unlimited’s very-own website include apprentice chef, hairdresser, digital marketer, social media assistant, graphic designer, civil engineer, clock restorer, and teaching assistant plus many, many more.

Anyone considering an apprenticeship will find that it offers high-quality training with the opportunity to study right up to degree level. Apprentices earn while they learn and can expect to receive around 700 training hours on average.

The Department for Education’s recent #FireItUp campaign is raising awareness of the huge variety of apprenticeship options available now for people of all ages and backgrounds and is going all out to dispel the myth that a traditional academic route is not the only way to get a great job.

Clock making is one of the many apprenticeship opportunities available through Learning Unlimited.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in finding out more about apprenticeships, Learning Unlimited has a series of Apprenticeship Advice Evenings lined up in Chesterfield and Derby over the next few months. The first takes place at Chesterfield College, Infirmary Road, Chesterfield on Tuesday 19 February. Learning Unlimited’s campus in Derby will host events on 14 May and 25 June.

Anyone living in the Chesterfield area is also welcome to drop by at the Apprenticeship Hub in Chesterfield College during weekdays.
