Traineeships on offer with Derby County Community Trust

The Chesterfield College Group and Derby County Community Trust are looking for unemployed young people with a passion for carving a career in sports coaching and development to join their traineeship scheme at the Derby County ground.  The traineeship offers the chance to get first-hand work-experience and important work skills to get a career in sport off to a flying start.

There are up to 25 traineeships on offer for young people, aged 16 -18, who are unemployed or not in education. Successful applicants will get the chance to take advantage of paid work experience opportunities at the football ground and out in the community. At the same time, they will develop English and maths skills and improve their confidence, giving them key employability skills which will enhance their CV.

At the end of the programme all trainees who complete the course will be guaranteed an interview for an apprentice position.

Kieron Wicks from Derby County Community Trust says;

“If there are any young people out there who want a career in sport but don’t know where to start, this is a fantastic opportunity. We are always looking for young talent to join our team taking sport out into the community. A traineeship with us is a brilliant way to get your foot on football and coaching career ladder.”

Stuart Allen, Director of Learning for Health, Wellbeing and Society at Chesterfield College said;

“When you combine the kind of work experience that Derby County Community Trust can offer with improving the skills that will make you more employable, traineeships are a really powerful way to improve your prospects and get you the job that you’ve always dreamed of. At the end of this programme trainees will either progress onto an apprenticeship or further study so we urge you to get in touch and find out more.”
